Scheduling actions

You can find these actions by right-clicking a scheduled task.

Arrange selected task

Will arrange the scheduled tasks on the timeline according to their activity number.

Note that in order to see the activity numbers you need to activate the activity number column in More>My personal options...>Agile and scheduling.

The activity number can then be found in the left most column of the Planning section.

All items will receive an activity number depending on their position in the Planning section. The first item will receive the activity number 0, the second item will receive the number 1 and so on.

Three items in their default position after being created.

The same three items after using Arrange selected tasks.

Move connected as far back as possible

Will move the selected connected task as far back as possible. It will not be moved past its predecessor task.

The timeline in Hansoft can stretch to accommodate tasks set to be completed in the distant future. As this causes practical problems when planning the Move connected as far back as possible function is intended to act as a "fail-safe". Note that this feature should be used sparingly as it strains the system and hampers Hansoft client performance.

A timeline containing two tasks. There is a one week gap between the finish date of task 1 and the start date of task 2.

By using Move connected as far back as possible you can minimize the gap

Connect selected tasks

Will connect all tasks that have been selected.

This is effective when connecting several scheduled tasks into a larger sequence. Items D,E,F and G have been selected in this example.

Pressing Connect selected tasks connects all of the selected items.

Connect activities by number

will connect tasks by their activity number. This becomes very useful when handling a large amount of scheduled tasks as it does not require you to search through the timeline in order to set connections.

Note that in order to see the activity number you need to activate the activity number column in More>My personal options...>Agile and scheduling.

In this image the task associated with the activity number 1 is being connected with the task associated with the activity number 2. The connection will link the end of the first task with the start of the second one. The connection type can be set to several different alternatives.

Transform tasks to releases

Will convert a scheduled task into a release and place it on the finishing date of the late task. You can read more about releases here.

Set out of office status

Will set a scheduled task to out of office status. You can read more about out of office status here.
